Ja’Juan Sieder explains why he left Penn State for Notre Dame

Notre Dame football landed one of the best running back coaches in the country when Ja’Juan Sieder left Penn State for South Bend.

It was an interesting move as the Nittany Lions had both of their running backs already announce that they would be returning for another year, but there was one factor that pushed Sieder to join Notre Dame’s program, Marcus Freeman.

When speaking with the media on Wednesday, Sieder explained that the Irish’s head coach was the main reason why he made the move. The decision wasn’t easy for him as he had been with PSU since 2018, and they were just coming off a solid run in the College Football Playoff.

With Notre Dame, Sieder will have an impressive group to coach up in his first season with Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price and Aneyas Williams. This unit should be elite once again, and should see lots of production from this trio with Sieder guiding them.

Ja’Juan Sieder: Wasn’t easy to leave Penn State. Never the right time to leave and never a bad time to leave. Talked with his family and felt it was time to leave.

“It was Notre Dame and Marcus Freeman.”
