What made Travis Hunter such an exceptional and unprecedented (at least in the modern era) college football player is perhaps the biggest question facing him as he prepares to take his talents to the NFL.
Will the Colorado two-way star play cornerback or wide receiver once he gets to the professional ranks?
The man who could be his future coach would counter that question with another one: Why not both?
Speaking to reporters Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan — whose team has the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft — said that he believes that the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner will be able to make an impact on both sides of the ball once he gets to the NFL.

“It’s very realistic,” Callahan said. “He’s a unique player. There’s not a whole lot of other players you could compare what he’s done. There’s not many guys who have played that many snaps on both sides of the ball. You watch his tape and you see his ability to play both at a very high level.”
It’s possible the Titans do what many teams with the first overall pick in the draft do and select a quarterback, particularly after Tennessee finished 3-14 last season while suffering through the inconsistent play and atrocious decision-making of Will Levis.
While that could mean that another Colorado player, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, ends up in Nashville, Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker said last month that the franchise won’t pass on a “generational talent” which, with all due respect to Sanders, would more accurately describe Hunter, his close friend and former teammate.
