Former Flower Mound defensive coordinator named head football coach at Cedar Ridge High

Cedar Ridge has hired a new head football coach with a defensive background.

Bryan Vardeman moves to the Round Rock school after serving as defensive coordinator at Flower Mound High since 2016. He has been a high school coach since 2004.

Bryan Vardeman takes over as head football coach and athletic coordinator at Cedar Ridge High. He previously served as defensive coordinator at Flower Mound.

He will also serve as Cedar Ridge’s athletic coordinator.

Vardeman, 44, said he found passion as a coach from his own days as a football player. Most notably, he was a defensive back for four years at Oklahoma State who played in the Cotton and Houston Bowls.

“My family and I are very excited to join this incredible community,” he said. “Cedar Ridge has all the components that make up a championship school, and I’m looking forward to getting started and pouring into our kids and community.”
