Class of 2026 four-star running back Brian Bonner Jr. named his top eight schools on Tuesday and Nebraska made the list. They join Notre Dame, Michigan, UCLA, Georgia, Penn State, Washington, and Stanford on the list of finalists. Bonner is the fourth overall running back in the 2026 class per the On3 recruiting rankings.
He showed his versatility in the running and passing game. Last year, he had a breakout season, as he tallied 197 carries for 1,493 yards and 25 touchdowns. The playmaker also contributed in the receiving game, as he recorded 40 catches for 498 yards and four touchdowns last year.
Nebraska first offered the all-purpose back on January 29 of last year. Currently, the 2026 class has three commitments. According to the On3 recruiting rankings, the class ranks 35th overall. The program has extended offers and scheduled visits for the class in recent weeks.
It will certainly be interesting to see where Nebraska football ranks in this recruitment. They will have their work cut out for them as they battle several big-time schools.
