The top-ranked athlete in the nation scheduled an official visit with Penn State. Five-star prospect Brandon Arrington announced Thursday afternoon that he will visit Happy Valley for an in-depth look at the Nittany Lions program.
Arrington, the No. 11 recruit in 247Sports Composite 2026 rankings, is also taking official visits to Texas A&M, Oregon and USC this summer. In his recently released top 12, the 6-foot-2 Arrington listed Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma and UCLA in addition to the programs he has already scheduled an official visit with.
Arrington is one of roughly 50 recruits scheduled to have official visits with Penn State this spring and summer. According to 247Sports, the Nittany Lions 2026 class already includes nine commits and ranks fourth nationally.
The San Diego native is a cornerback/wide receiver combination with elite speed. He is the 2024 California state champion in the 100m and 200m, running 10.27 and 20.55, respectively. Running those times as a sophomore is impressive, and Arrington could easily compete in both sports at the collegiate level. He can play corner or receiver on the football field with the speed and agility to be a dominant return man.
Alabama looks like the team to beat in the recruiting battle for Arrington’s services. Penn State seems to be behind the SEC schools and fellow Big Ten schools Oregon and USC. Could an earlier official visit set the stage for a huge recruiting coup? Only time will tell, but it seems like Arrington is leaning toward Alabama or a couple of West Coast schools.
