What Brian Kelly said about LSU Football’s spring game

LSU football head coach Brian Kelly is open to making changes to LSU’s spring game, according to a report from The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander.

Per Alexander, there will still be “live action” for fans to watch, but Kelly is yet to decide on specific format.

Should LSU make changes to its upcoming spring game, scheduled for Saturday, April 12, it would be one of multiple schools to modify its traditional intersquad scrimmage.

Texas, Nebraska, and USC cancelled their spring games altogether amid tampering allegations popping up at schools across the country. With the usage of the transfer portal and NIL funds becoming more prevalent, teams are doing everything possible to protect their rosters.

LSU brought in the nation’s top transfer class in 2025 and signed a top-10 high school class along with it, including two five-star recruits and a handful of four-stars who may see playing time immediately.

Brian Kelly is considering changes to LSU’s spring game. He tells @theadvocatebr there will be “live action” to watch, but he hasn’t decided what the format will be as others alter or cancel their scrimmages.https://t.co/MOxX2xE9W7
