Southside High School will have a new face spearheading its football program for the 2025 season.
Southside has hired William “AJ” Millis as its next head coach.
“It is with great pride and excitement that I step into the role of head football coach at Southside High School. I have dedicated my career to developing athletes and raising the standard at every stop along the way,” Willis said in a statement. “From the moment I learned about this opportunity, I knew this program had incredible potential, and I am honored to lead these student-athletes into a new era of success.”
Southside’s former coach, Roy Ravenel, stepped down from the position in November after four seasons.
Last season, the Tigers finished 0-10. Millis, a native of Piedmont, played football at Charleston Southern University. He previously spent five seasons as Berea’s defensive coordinator and seven years on the coaching staff at Blacksburg.
