Wisconsin football announces an opponent for the 2029 season

MADISON – The first date of the 2029 Wisconsin football season is set.

The Badgers will face Illinois State on Sept. 8, 2029. The matchup will be the second in the history of the two programs. The Badgers scored a 38-0 victory over the Redbirds to open the 2022 season.

Here is a look at the opponents for UW over the next few seasons. No game times have been announced and in the case of the Big Ten games after next season, no dates have been revealed.

Wisconsin football 2025 schedule

Aug. 30- vs. Miami (Ohio); Sept. 6 – vs. Middle Tennessee; Sept. 13 – at Alabama; Sept. 20 – vs. Maryland; Oct. 4 – at Michigan; Oct. 11 – vs. Iowa; Oct. 18 – vs. Ohio State; Oct. 25 – at Oregon; Nov. 8 – vs. Washington; Nov. 15 – at Indiana; Nov. 22 – vs. Illinois; Nov. 29 – at Minnesota.

Wisconsin football 2026 schedule/opponents

Sept. 5 – vs. Notre Dame at Lambeau Field; Sept. 12 – vs. Western Illinois; Sept. 19 – vs. Pittsburgh. Big Ten home opponents: Michigan State, Rutgers, Minnesota, USC. Big Ten away opponents: Iowa, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA.

Wisconsin football 2027 schedule/opponents

Aug 28 – vs. Pittsburgh in Dublin, Ireland; Sept. 11 – vs. Southern Illinois; Sept. 18 – vs. Colorado State. Big Ten home opponents: Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State and UCLA. Big Ten road opponents: Michigan State, Illinois, Minnesota and USC.

Wisconsin football 2028 schedule/opponents

Sept. 2 – vs. Marshall; Sept. 9 – vs. William & Mary; Sept. 16 – vs. Utah. Big Ten home opponents: Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Oregon. Big Ten road opponents: Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State and Washington.
