The College Football Playoff selection is made up of 13 members that are tasked with ranking the top-25 teams in the country and ultimately deciding which 12 teams will make up the College Football Playoff at the end of the regular season. On Tuesday, the CFP announced they are appointing five new members to the committee, and that group is headlined by former Michigan State football head coach and College Football Hall of Fame member Mark Dantonio.
Here is what CFP executive director Rich Clark had to say about the additions:
“The additions of Mark, Damon, Ivan, Chris and Wesley will bring some great new voices to the selection committee as we enter our 12th season,” Rich Clark said in a statement. “Each of them has tremendous knowledge, passion and dedication to college football, along with outstanding character and integrity. Their skills and wide variety of experiences — from coaches and athletes to university leaders and journalists — will ensure that they will transition in with our returning members successfully. We also appreciate Steve returning for the upcoming season. His understanding and wisdom from his previous term will be a real benefit to the group.”
