Over the course of the last few days, we have seen Notre Dame football send out multiple offers to top prospects in the 2026 recruiting cycle, and that didn’t stop on Tuesday.
The Irish offered two new players, both of them viewed as 4-star prospects. Montana athlete Matt Ludwig was the first to announce the scholarship, as the nation’s No. 243 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings most likely will end up as a tight end at the next level. His frame is one that many teams envision in their room, at 6-foot, 4-inches and 230-pounds.
New York wide receiver Messiah Hampton got his offer next, as the 6-foot and 170-pound pass catcher has already set a few official visits. One of them is to Notre Dame’s rival USC, as the Irish will have to battle against the Trojans for the country’s No. 213 overall prospect according to the same rankings.
Recently the focus has been on the offensive side of the ball, as it seems like head coach Marcus Freeman knows that his offense needs to take the next step for his team to break through and win a College Football Playoff championship. Hopefully that is the case soon, after this past season where Notre Dame nearly won it all.
