Cade Klubnik continues to receive national recognition: Athlon Sports ranked him as the No. 2 returning quarterback in college football for the 2025 season, trailing only Texas’ Arch Manning.
Coming off a breakout junior campaign, Klubnik enters 2025 as a Heisman Trophy candidate and one of the most productive quarterbacks in the nation. He was one of only two quarterbacks last season to throw for more than 3,500 yards while adding 400 yards on the ground. He finished with 3,639 passing yards, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions, along with 463 rushing yards and seven scores.
His play guided Clemson back to the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2020 and secured another ACC title. Klubnik became only the third player in ACC history to win multiple ACC Championship Game MVP awards.Over his first three seasons, Klubnik has thrown for 7,180 yards, 57 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while adding 784 rushing yards and 13 scores. He already ranks in the top five in Clemson history in multiple passing categories, including career passing yards, touchdowns, completions and total offense.
What’s really interesting about this, is Manning ranking ahead of Klubnik. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of Manning’s game. In my personal quarterback rankings for 2025, I ranked him No. 5. He has an immense amount of talent, and I have no doubt it will be on full display. … I just cannot rank him ahead of a guy like Klubnik who has already proven it on the field.
With another strong year, Klubnik has the chance to cement himself among Clemson’s all-time greats while leading the Tigers on another championship run.
