Notre Dame updates certain players’ availability for spring practice

Notre Dame will be starting its spring practices in a little less than two weeks. But like during a typical football season, certain players won’t be available because of injuries, or they will be available but watched very closely by team personnel.

During a news conference Thursday, Irish head athletic trainer Rob Hunt indicated that six defensive players and three offensive players would be too injured to participate in spring practices. Additionally, four offensive players and defensive lineman Cole Mullins would take part in modified activity.

Because the 2024 season lasted 16 games, Hunt also is implementing “individualized plans” for seven defensive players and three offensive players. Meanwhile, three offensive players and two defensive players who previously had health issues have been cleared for all football activity. Some very prominent players are in those groups.

Here are the players who won’t see the field at all between now and the Blue-Gold Game:

The following Notre Dame players are out for spring practice:

– Jordan Botelho
– Ashton Craig
– Davion Dixon
– Cooper Flanagan
– Kahanu Kia
– Chris Terek
– Boubacar Traore
– Chance Tucker
– Jalen Stroman
