AUBURN — Auburn football’s 2025 season-opener at Baylor is going to be played in true Lone Star State fashion.
On Friday, the Tigers announced a change to their season-opening contest, moving it from Saturday, Aug. 30, to Aug. 29, putting it under the Friday night lights.
Auburn’s lone Friday night contest of the season, it’ll make it the first SEC squad to play a game, with no other league member playing until the following day. It’s the first time Auburn’s played on a Friday since the 2010 Iron Bowl, in which Cam Newton led the Tigers on a 24-point comeback win in Tuscaloosa, which was the program’s last Iron Bowl victory in enemy confines.
This year’s season-opener will be the first of three road trips Auburn takes in its first five games, traveling to Oklahoma (Sept. 20) to start SEC play before heading to Texas A&M (Sept. 27) the following week.
Baylor’s coming off a 2024 campaign in which it went 8-5. That was its best record since a 12-win season under Dave Aranda in 2021. The Bears won their final six regular-season games before losing to LSU, 44-31, in the Texas Bowl.
Here’s a look at Auburn’s entire 2025 slate.
