Four-star offensive tackle recruit Deacon Schmitt is down to eight schools, with the Georgia Bulldogs making the cut. He also included the Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, Oklahoma Sooners, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Colorado Buffaloes, USC Trojans, and Ohio State Buckeyes among his top eight, according to On3.
Schmitt is a four-star offensive tackle from the class of 2026. The 320-pound, 6-foot-5 mammoth offensive lineman plays football for Windsor High School in Windsor, Colorado, so the Buffaloes have the advantage in terms of location. Schmitt is the highest ranked recruit in Colorado in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
He’s already scheduled visits with Tennessee, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. However, Georgia is still in the running, and he could be paying a visit to UGA over the summer or during the Bulldogs’ 2025 regular season.
Georgia has some work to do in their recruiting class. The Bulldogs currently boast the 17th-ranked recruiting class in the nation with five commitments. However, things are expected to pick up for Kirby Smart and company soon.
Schmitt is ranked as the No. 1 ranked recruit in Colorado and the No. 365 recruit in the country, per 247Sports.
