Tennessee football’s Orange and White Spring Game will not be televised. Plus, attendance at Neyland Stadium once again will be capped.
The game will start at 2 p.m. on April 12 at Neyland Stadium, UT announced on Thursday.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at AllVols.com. General admission seats cost $10, including all open sections of the bowl in Neyland Stadium. All proceeds will count as a contribution to UT’s My All Campaign.
Gates will open at 1 p.m., and the stadium’s clear bag policy will be in effect. Parking details will be announced at a later date.
Why Tennessee spring game won’t be on TV
Only 45,000 fans will be admitted due to stadium construction. That’s an improvement from the 2024 spring game, when only 10,000 fans were admitted amid renovations to Neyland Stadium, which normally has a capacity of 101,915.
Unlike past years, the Orange and White game won’t be broadcast on TV because the SEC Network is no longer mandating that spring games are televised. Instead, schools can produce a 30-minute all-access show from the spring game that can air on SEC Network throughout the summer.
Around college football, spring games are falling out of favor. Some schools aren’t holding spring games for fear of exposing talented players to the transfer portal market. Many other schools aren’t televising their games.
As for live coverage of UT’s spring game, fans will be able to follow the game on the Vols Radio Network.
Also, Vol Village will open at 10:30 a.m. It will feature live bands, food trucks, an appearance by the Spirit Squad and VFL Sterl The Pearl, and activities for all ages. No ticket is required for Vol Village.
