Big 12 moving UCF’s Space Game with Houston to Friday night, national TV

The Big 12 Conference has adjusted UCF‘s football schedule, moving the highly anticipated Space Game against Houston from Saturday, Nov. 8, to Friday, Nov. 7.

The change was made in collaboration with ESPN and FOX, who wish to showcase the game nationally.

This game is particularly significant as it marks the Knights’ annual Space Game, a beloved tradition that celebrates the university’s identity and its connection to the aerospace industry in Central Florida.

The matchup’s shift from its usual Saturday setting marks the fourth move in the game’s eight-year history.

UCF twice played the game on a Thursday night against Temple (2018, 2022) and once on a Friday night against Memphis (2021). The Knights are undefeated (8-0) in the game, typically featuring space-themed uniforms worn by the players.

It’s the second weekday game on UCF’s schedule, with the Knights set to open the season against Jacksonville State on Thursday, Aug. 28.
