Four-star linebacker Izayia Williams has been a recruiting target for the Georgia Bulldogs for sometime, but he is now committed to the Florida Gators.
Williams is a four-star linebacker from the class of 2026. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker plays for Tavares High School in Leesburg, Florida. He’s a multi-sport athlete that does track and field and plays basketball alongside football. Williams is the No. 3 linebacker and No. 53 player in the nation, per 247Sports.
Williams has had an interesting recruiting process. In 2023, he committed to the Louisville Cardinals, but he decommitted in Jan. 2024. In April, he then chose Syracuse as his school, but decommitted from the Orange on Aug. 4, 2024. A month later, in September 2024, he committed to the Florida State Seminoles, but he decommitted in November 2024.
Despite the commitment to Florida on Thursday, Williams still has visits to other schools, including Georgia. He will visit Athens on May 30, 2025. Williams has had a chaotic recruitment, so who knows where he will end up.
Georgia football and head coach Kirby Smart have some work to do in their 2026 recruiting class. The Bulldogs currently boast the 17th-ranked recruiting class in the nation with five commitments.
The Bulldogs have been in talks with several other top including Jordan Edmunds, Tyler Atkinson, and LaDamian Guyton, who all visited Georgia’s Junior Day. They are also one of the two top schools for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
