LSU football has locked in an official visit with four-star cornerback Havon Finney after Finney reclassified to the 2026 recruiting class.
Per a report from On3 on Thursday, Finney will be on campus in late June to check out the Tigers’ program. The trip follows an unofficial visit taken in April 2024 to Baton Rouge. Finney also took unofficial visits to USC in February and Oregon in June 2023.
The four-star recruit ranks No. 14 in the state of California and No. 13 at his position, according to On3’s industry rankings. He holds a plethora of Power Four offers, including Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Texas, but On3 gives LSU a 58% chance of landing the cornerback.
Finney’s commitment would bolster an LSU 2026 class currently ranked third nationally and first in the SEC. He would be the first cornerback and second defensive back alongside safety Aiden Hall.
Originally the No. 2 cornerback in the 2027 cycle, Finney plans to announce his commitment before the start of his final season at Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles, CA. LSU needs to make a positive impact while he’s on campus and ahead of what’s sure to be a busy summer of official visits for Finney.
While Finney is a four-star in the industry rankings, Rivals rates the cornerback as a five-star prospect. It wouldn’t be the first time LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond landed a five-star cornerback from California. In 2020, Raymond and LSU signed five-star Eli Ricks from out west.
