Texas A&M is a Top 15 ranked team in ESPN’s initial college football SP+ rankings

The 2025 college football season is a little over five months away, and with Texas A&M’s spring football season on the horizon, it’s a good time to evaluate the Aggies’ 2025 roster, which still may add players once the spring transfer portal opens.

After finishing 8-5 during head coach Mike Elko’s inaugural season, A&M’s 1-4 finish, including losses to Texas and USC in the Las Vegas Bowl, was highly disappointing, but due to injuries and quarterback Marcel Reed’s development track as a passer, the Aggies failed to live up to their mid-season expectations after starting 7-0 and 5-1 in SEC play.

Judging Elko after one season isn’t a fair assessment, especially after landing 14 players from the transfer portal while bringing up-and-coming defensive-minded Lyle Humphill to the 2025 coaching staff. Ranked 6th in returning production (71%), Texas A&M lacks excuses for the 2025 season. Behind a veteran offensive line, star running back Le’Veon Moss returns after his season-ending injury,…
