The phrase ‘Everything is bigger in Texas’ is the perfect way to describe the Texas high school football season.
Arguably the tops in the entire country, Texas puts out some of the best high school football players on a yearly basis. Whether on college football Saturday’s or NFL Sunday’s, nearly half of the stars you see on the gridiron hail from Texas.
The 2026 class once again promises to continue the trend. It’s a class full of future college and NFL talent. Here’s a look at 15 of the top 2026 high school football recruits in the Lone Star State you need to know about.
Keisean Henderson
School: Legacy School of the Sport Sciences (Spring)
Position: Quarterback
Commitment: Houston
Summary: Henderson became a name to know in this year’s Navy All-American game, where he earned MVP. His junior season saw him complete 66% of his passes for 2,689 yards and 25 touchdowns while also rushing for seven more on the ground.
Henderson committed to Houston last May, but the past few months, he’s picked up offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and several other Power Four programs.
Felix Ojo
School: Lake Ridge (Mansfield)
Position: Offensive Tackle
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Standing in at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, Ojo is ranked as a five-star prospect by nearly every major recruiting outlet.
The next few months he has several visits lined up. After taking an unofficial to Notre Dame on April 10, he’ll take official visits to Ole Miss (April 18), Ohio State (May 30), Michigan (June 6), Texas (June 13) and Oklahoma (June 20).
KJ Edwards
School: Carthage
Position: Running Back
Commitment: Uncommitted
Summary: Edwards is one of the three best running backs this cycle. As a junior he rushed for 1,789 yards and 23 touchdowns while averaging 12.6 yards per carry.
