Wallace named football coach at Daviess County

Daviess County High School named Quadarius Wallace its next head football coach, the school announced Friday.

Wallace was an assistant coach for several years with the Panthers’ program, and he met with current players during the school day. A community meet-and-greet will be scheduled at a later date.

Wallace replaces Anthony Payton, who coached Daviess County to a 1-10 record in 2024.

Wallace played football at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He joined Daviess County’s coaching staff in 2015 under former head coach Matt Brannon and was defensive coordinator from 2017 through the 2023 season.

Wallace was defensive backs coach at Owensboro High School during the 2024 season.

“Taking the Daviess County job has been something that I have worked my whole life for,” Wallace said. “Football has shaped my entire and now God has placed me in a position to do to me what other great men have done for me.”

The team will be getting ready for spring practice and preparing for next season.

“As far as spring we are taking things step by step and I’m trying to cultivate relationships and establish the standards of the program,” Wallace said. “I’m looking forward to my guys buying into and falling in love with the process, our process. And we will do that by being ‘All In.’ ”
