CLEMSON — Clemson football added its 12th player in the 2026 class with the commitment of three-star wide receiver Marcell Gipson on Monday.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas is rated the No. 102 player in Texas by the 247Sports Composite rankings. Gipson chose Clemson over Ole Miss, Washington and Wisconsin.
He is among six recruits who have committed to Clemson in the past four days, joining offensive linemen Adam Guthrie, Grant Wise and Chancellor Barclay, and wide receivers Naeem Burroughs and Connor Salmin — all four-stars. Clemson hosted its “Elite Retreat” this past weekend, where various recruits came to campus.
In his junior season, Gipson recorded 36 tackles and 10 pass deflections in 10 games, according to Max Preps.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney’s 2026 class is ranked No. 3 nationally. It has seven four-star recruits, four three-stars and one player who isn’t rated.

Gipson is the first recruit from Texas in the 2026 class to commit to the Tigers. He joins cornerback Shavar Young Jr. as the two defensive backs committed to Clemson this cycle.
