A new era of Georgia Bulldogs football is beginning. The 2025 Bulldogs begin their spring practice on March 11.
Georgia’s spring practice will build up to G-Day, which is Georgia’s annual spring football game. G-Day will be held on April 12.
Georgia’s 2025 team has a significant amount of questions entering spring practice. The Dawgs are coming off an 11-3 season, but lost a lot of key contributors from 2024’s SEC championship team. Most notably, Georgia lost starting quarterback Carson Beck, who transferred to the Miami Hurricanes.
Georgia’s competition at quarterback and really every other position will be something to keep an eye on this spring. It is hard to win a national championship without great quarterback play.
One overlooked area fans need to watch is the trenches. Georgia lost four of its five starting offensive linemen from a season ago including three that are expected to go fairly early in the 2025 NFL draft. Georgia’s rebuilt offensive line will feature several experienced players, but the fans want to see results after UGA gave up nearly twice as many sacks as it did in 2024 and had one of the SEC’s worst rushing offenses.
Additionally, Georgia’s defense lost a ton of front seven production. The Bulldogs lost over 75% of their total sacks to the NFL draft or transfer portal, so Kirby Smart will need a few pass rushers to emerge otherwise Georgia could target a pass rusher when the spring transfer window opens on April 16.
Let’s look at three things Georgia fans need to know entering spring practice.
