LSU football recruiting target Lamar Brown included the Tigers in his top four and set a commitment date over the weekend.
The two-way 2026 prospect will announce his decision of where he’ll play college football on July 4. Brown is down to LSU, Texas A&M, Miami and Florida State and plans to take official visits to all four before the announcement.
At Under Armour Next in New Orleans, the Erwinville, LA native said the Tigers and Aggies have created separation lately. According to On3’s Industry Rankings, Brown is a four-star prospect and the top player in the state and at his position.
Recruiting services have listed Brown as an offensive lineman but playing on the defensive line cannot be ruled out. He stated that he specifically chose his top four schools since they see him as a potential defensive lineman.
“It really came down to me deciding to play defensive line in college,” Brown said. “A lot of schools wanted to play offensive line, but those four schools were the ones recruiting me the hardest as a defensive lineman.”
LSU’s 2026 class currently ranks first in the SEC and third nationally. Brown would join fellow linemen Richard Anderson, Brysten Martinez and Jalen Chapman. It seems likely that the Tigers will secure his commitment but it remains to be seen what position Brown will actually play at the collegiate level.
