Clemson lands Ohio four-star safety Kaden Gebhardt

Clemson is on fire right now on the recruiting trail. The Tigers just landed its seventh commitment of March because of four-star safety Kaden Gebhardt. The star defender picked the Tigers after being in town for their big Junior Day weekend.

Gebhardt selected Clemson over Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame.

This is the 12th known commitment for the Tigers.

“I just got that feeling where I knew it was where I wanted to be and I love it,” Gebhardt told Rivals. “I love Coach Conn, Coach Allen, Coach Swinney, and the whole staff. I knew after my first visit that it was the school that fit me best. Where they see me dominating in their defense I absolutely love and can’t wait. I’m very blessed to be a Clemson Tiger. I’m ALL IN.”

The Tigers have done a great job this cycle expanding their recruiting footprint. Gebhardt is the third player from the Midwest in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He joins fellow four-stars Adam Guthrie and Braden Wilmes. Clemson also has prospects in the class from Texas, Arizona and Tennessee.

One other developing storyline this cycle is Clemson going head to head with Ohio State. Gebhardt and Guthrie are two Ohio natives that each held offers from the Buckeyes. Pulling recruits out of Ohio that have interest from the Buckeyes is no easy task. Coach Dabo Swinney has pulled it off twice this cycle. That’s something to watch.
