Texas A&M’s 2025 season is still five months away, but it’s never too early to discuss what the Aggies will look like roster-wise under second-year head coach Mike Elko, who carries plenty of pressure after A&M finished 1-4 after starting 7-1 and 5-0 in SEC play.
Star power in college football is everything, and after losing defensive linemen Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner, Texas A&M is looking at senior edge Cashius Howell, defensive lineman DJ Hicks and cornerback Will Lee III to carry the torch on defense. In contrast, quarterback Marcel Reed, running back Le’Veon Moss, and wide receiver KC Concepcion look to represent the offense in 2025.
However, ahead of this year’s release of EA Sports’ College Football 26, a leaked image of the game’s cover featured Michigan freshman QB Bryce Underwood, Florida QB DJ Lagway, LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier, Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love, Alabama WR Ryan Williams, Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt and South Carolina edge Dylan Stewart.
Every player mentioned has national appeal, and if we’re being honest, Texas A&M has not earned national respect to have a current player on the roster among the best players at their respective positions. Still, it’s fair to note that Bryce Underwood has yet to take a collegiate snap, while DJ Lagway is heading into his first full starting season.
