Cocoa’s Brady Hart recognized at ceremony after being named Mr. Football

Cocoa quarterback Brady Hart was recognized at a ceremony in the school’s auditorium on Thursday for being named Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Football for the 2024 season. David Stirt from the Florida Dairy Farmers organization attended the ceremony to present Hart with his Mr. Football trophy.

Hart won the title of Mr. Football in January after he helped lead the Tigers to their third consecutive state championship. He finished the season with 4,360 passing yards and 40 passing touchdowns.

“I was actually on the way to the airport, my parents were going to drop me off and we’re getting ready to go to school and drop me off at Texas A&M,” Hart said on where he was when he found out he had won Mr. Football. “I was pretty excited, it’s such a cool honor for a football player in the state of Florida and its pretty cool to win one the year after my teammate, it’s a pretty special feeling.”

Cocoa receiver Jayvan Boggs was the first football player from Brevard County to be named Mr. Football after winning the award last season. With Hart winning the award this year, Cocoa became the first high school to have players earn the title in back-to-back seasons.

“I think it’s a testament to our team and our coaches, and just that it’s a pretty special award and for us to win it twice is just a testament to all the great people we have here,” Hart said.

The Tigers ended the 2024 season with a 38-27 win over Gadsden County in the Class 2A state championship game and a record of 11-3.

Last November, Hart reclassified to class of 2025 and announced his decision to attend Texas A&M University to continue his academic and athletic career.

“I love it, I definitely made the right decision and things are going great. I’m just super excited about the decision I made,” Hart said on his time so far with the Aggies.
