Nick Sirianni has a new right-hand man after Eagles hire UAB chief of staff Cole Peterson as assistant to the head coach

The Eagles are reshaping the coaching staff following the departures of Kellen Moore and Doug Nussmeier, and they’ve added another staffer from the college football coaching ranks. Matt Zenith of CBS Sports reports that Philadelphia is hiring UAB chief of staff/executive director of football operations Cole Peterson as assistant to coach Nick Sirianni.

A coach’s son, Peterson, was named UAB’s Executive Director of Football Operations in January 2023 and just completed his second season with the Blazers. Peterson, 24, spent the 2022 season as the Assistant Director of Football Operations and Assistant to the Head Coach at Indiana, working alongside then Hoosiers’ Head Coach, Tom Allen.

Prior to Indiana, Peterson was the youngest Director of Football Operations in college football when he served in that role at his Alma Mater, Youngstown State, in 2021.
