Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class possesses eight blue-chip commits

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is still in its early stages. After losing three commitments over the past two months, head coach Mike Elko and his staff have returned to visiting prospects and setting up official and unofficial visits that begin this month and last through the better part of June and July.

So far, even after losing three commitments, including four-star tight end Xavier Tiller, all eight of Texas A&M’s 2026 commitments are considered blue-chip recruits, according to On3. The Aggies’ cycle currently ranks second nationally, below USC. Within the class, Elko has checked off several future position boxes, including landing two of the top offensive prospects in the cycle.

Knowing that the transfer portal will continue to result in offseason departures for every program, Elko and OC Collin Klein’s focus on preparing for the future at the quarterback led to landing four-star QB Helaman Casuga, who possesses one of the biggest and most accurate arms in the class. In contrast, four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory looks like a five-star talent due to his smooth route running and soft hands.

In the trenches, the Aggies have yet to add an offensive lineman but have landed two defensive line commitments from four-stars Trashawn Ruffin and Jermaine Kinsler.

Out of the ten teams listed, USC leads with nine blue-chip prospects. At the same time, Oregon (7) and Clemson (6) rank ahead of LSU, Auburn, Penn State, Notre Dame, Miami, and Florida State finished with five prospects who are considered elite and ready contribute as soon as their freshman season.
