Texas A&M football: How Kyle Field got its name
Kyle Field has been revamped several times and can now easily fit more than 100,000 people. Here is a history of Texas A&M’s football field.
The Texas A&M football program lost a big-time recruit Monday when four-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin decommitted from the Aggies’ 2026 class.
The 6-foot-3, 307-pound prospect initially committed to A&M in October. But questions surrounding Ruffin’s commitment began shortly after when, an hour later, he took to social media to state despite the verbal commitment, his recruitment was still open. Now, the from Mount Olive, N.C., native has committed to the Tar Heels and looks set to play under new head coach Bill Belichick.
It’s a blow to the Aggies’ 2026 recruiting class, which 247Sports composite rankings have at No. 9 in the country. A&M now has three committed defensive linemen in the class, a pledge from Jordan Carter out of Georgia, as well as verbal commitments from Samu Moala and Jermaine Kinsler, all three of whom are four-star recruits.
There’s not a five-star pledge yet, but the class is anchored by seven four-star prospects, including Carter, who is the highest-ranked in the class, and wide receiver Aaron Gregory.
The Aggies are now deep into the offseason program, with spring football set to begin Thursday.
