Georgia Bulldogs sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle has been arrested on two driving charges. Tuggle’s arrest comes in the middle of Georgia’s spring football practice.
Tuggle faces a pair of misdemeanor charges: reckless driving and exceeding the maximum speed limit. Tuggle is Georgia football’s first known arrest during the offseason. He was booked in jail at early Thursday morning on March 20 at 1:56 a.m. ET and was released on bond ($26) under an hour later, per the Athens-Clarke County jail booking report.
Tuggle is the latest Georgia player to be arrested for a driving incident, which continues to be a significant concern for the football team and head coach Kirby Smart.
Tuggle considered leaving Georgia via the transfer portal this offseason but elected to return to UGA. He played in eight games and posted three catches for 34 yards as a true freshman. Tuggle, a former four-star recruit, caught two passes for 25 yards against the Tennessee Volunteers.
UGA did not comment immediately following Tuggle’s arrest, but Georgia head coach Kirby Smart will likely be asked about it during an upcoming press conference.
Georgia opens the 2025 college football season against Marshall on Aug. 30. Tuggle’s status for the season opener or Georgia’s spring game could be impacted due to his arrest.
