Ron Powlus III returns to the Fighting Irish as Assistant Director of Football Operations
Notre Dame is bringing another former player — this one with a well-known surname — back to campus to be the Assistant Director of Football Operations.
Ron Powlus III, the son of ’90s Notre Dame star quarterback Ron Powlus, was a backup QB two seasons ago before being forced to medically retire. Still, he stuck around, and with his father working as Deputy Athletics Director with oversight of football, it seemed like he might end up in the front office himself.
Spring camp begins today, and Powlus will be working under Director of Football Operations Nina Baloun.
The front-office staff has changed a lot this offseason. Jourdan Blake and Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa are also key additions to the program, with Tagovailoa-Amosa being an alum himself. This all follows Chad Bowden’s departure for USC.
