Texas A&M’ss 2026 class rises in rankings after 4-star RB commit

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has begun to receive the national attention it deserves after former Oklahoma commit and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton committed to the Aggies over the Sooners on Saturday afternoon during his visit to College Station.

After losing three commits over the past two months, head coach Mike Elko hasn’t wavered, understanding that this is just part of the process and that the next three months of future visits will determine the Aggies’ complete 2026 cycle. After Hatton’s commitment, Texas A&M’s 2026 class in its early stages has risen in the overall rankings.

In 247Sports’ latest 2026 class rankings, A&M’s class rose three spots to 6th overall, composed of eight four-star commits, tied with No. 2 Clemson. After hosting over a dozen 2026 and 2027 prospects this weekend, national recruiting analysts, including Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman, believe Mike Elko and his staff are on the right track to land the No. 1-ranked class when it’s all said and done.

Out of the prospects who visited this weekend, five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown were back in College Station for the second time.
