Another weekend of SEC baseball is in the books. As usual, we got a handful of ranked matchups leading to a shift in the SEC standings.
The headliner series was in Austin, Texas. The Longhorns got the best of LSU after the Tigers took game one of the series on Friday night. The Longhorns are now tied for first place in the SEC, sitting at 5-1 in their inaugural year in the conference.
Elsewhere, Georgia’s offense continued to mash. Florida was on the wrong end of that mashing as the Gators were swept again. UF is now 0-6 in SEC play.
Another team off to a disappointing start is Texas A&M. The Aggies were swept back-to-back weekends to open their conference schedule. A&M began the year as a national championship contender. Now, we don’t even know if Texas A&M will make the tournament.

Georgia’s offense exploded again in the Dawgs’ sweep of Florida. UGA leads the SEC with a .626 slugging rate. UGA has 70 home runs on the year, a mark that leads the SEC by a wide margin.
Next Up: UGA is set to host Auburn in Athens this weekend
Arkansas has three of the top sluggers in the SEC. Wehiwa Aloy, Brent Iredale, and Kuhio Aloy all rank in the top 10 in the conference in slugging. Charles Davalan has been a beneficiary of that power and is tied for the SEC lead with 40 runs.
The Razorbacks swept South Carolina in week two, scoring double-digit runs in all three games.

3. Tennessee Volunteers (22-2, 5-1)
Tennessee dropped a midweek game last week before losing the series opener vs. Alabama. The Vols managed to recover, winning games two and three to claim the series. Tennessee’s Gavin Kilen ranks second in the SEC with a .986 slugging.
