LAWRENCE — In another update that comes amid the ongoing renovations to Kansas football’s stadium and greater facilities, KU revealed on Monday the latest set of improvements.
According to a Jayhawks release that included a new walkthrough space, team room, and more. The Anderson Family Football Complex also features a recently renovated weight room, locker room, training area, fueling stations, player lounge, recovery space, locker room, and more.
It’s all a part of an effort to make sure it’s one of the more high-end facilities in the sport.
“The renovations to Anderson Family Football Complex will have a profound impact on our student-athletes, as it gives them a place to train, recover, study, fuel, and improve,” head coach Lance Leipold said in a KU release.
“These additions to the facility wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support that we have received as we continue to give our student-athletes one of the best experiences in all of college football.”
The newly-installed walkthrough area includes a video-board that will help create in-game scenarios as the team prepares for each game. The new team room will overlook the renovated David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
As the reopening of the stadium nears, additions to the team’s complex will also in time include a new dining area, entrance to the stadium, and more — as there will be more than 33,000 square feet of new construction and 40,000 square feet of renovated area.
