Four-star safety recruit Kealan Jones sets commitment date

Four-star safety Kealan Jones will verbally commit to a school on April 12, he tells Sam Spiegelman of Rivals.com. He will be committing to one of his top five schools: Duke, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Florida, or Georgia.

Jones is a four-star safety from the class of 2026. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back plays high school football for Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. Georgia Tech has the closes proximity to Jones since Marietta is only 30 minutes out from Atlanta, but Athens is not that far off as well.

Georgia still has a lot to do in recruiting, although they’ve already recruited four-star Zech Fort from IMG Academy and cornerback Jontavius Wyman from Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. Overall, though, the 2026 recruiting class is ranked just 18th, far from the top five classes Georgia football is used to bringing in, but there is still plenty of time to rectify that.

Jones is considered the 45th best prospect in Georgia. He is the 25th best safety in the class of 2026.

Jones will be making his commitment on the day of Georgia’s spring game. The Dawgs recently set G-Day to be at 1:00 p.m. ET on April 12.
