Every Colorado football wide receiver to watch in spring camp

In a season full of accolades, including the Heisman Trophy, Travis Hunter won the Colorado Buffaloes’ first Biletnikoff award for the most outstanding receiver in college football. Hunter leaves big shoes to fill as he heads to the NFL after leaving a lasting legacy at CU.

However, the Buffs are also losing three other NFL-bound receivers: Jimmy Horn Jr., LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard. The departing receivers accounted for over 3,251 yards and 32 touchdowns last season, creating opportunities for returning players and new faces to compete for starting roles.

With a potential new-look offense in 2025 and an impending quarterback battle, what receiver will step up? Who will be the security blanket to Julian Lewis or Kaidon Salter, just as Hunter was to Shedeur Sanders? These are the receivers to watch this spring.

Drelon Miller

Miller was Colorado’s fifth-leading receiver last season, with the four ahead of him among those departing. In his true freshman season, he tallied 277 yards on 32 receptions with three touchdowns. However, Miller’s size limits him slightly, but the connection he had with Sanders was undeniable. Miller could step up into a larger role in 2025 as the starting slot receiver with Wester leaving. This spring could be his chance to prove himself heading into his sophomore season.

Omarion Miller

Miller has shown flashes of being the next star receiver for Colorado when he can stay on the field. When injuries piled up for the Buffaloes last season against Kansas State, he racked up 145 yards on eight receptions. The spring could be a glimpse of his…
