Jackson State football announced Thursday it has canceled its spring game.
The school said the Blue & White game would not take place due to potential inclement weather.
The spring game was set for Saturday at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium at 3 p.m. JSU will now hold a scrimmage on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Walter Payton Center.
The scrimmage is open to the public.
The forecast for Saturday is a 93% chance of precipitation with17 mph winds, according to AccuWeather.
The 2025 season opener for JSU is a home game against Hampton on Aug. 30.
The schedule also includes playing at Hattiesburg and facing Southern Miss, hosting Tuskegee in the W.C. Gorden Classic and heading to Las Vegas to face Grambling State in the HBCU Classic. JSU’s homecoming game will be against Alabama State on Oct. 11.
