4-star Georgia football CB commit flips to ACC school

One of the Georgia Bulldogs major commitments has just flipped. Four-star cornerback Jontavius Wyman announced that he’s committing to the Miami Hurricanes after being committed to Georgia since July 2024, according to Hayes Fawcett.

Wyman is a four-star recruit from the class of 2026. He plays high school football and track and field at Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. The Bulldogs recruited him with hopes that he’d play for the most prestigious team in his state.

Instead, he’s flipping to Miami, who improve to the 15th ranked recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. Georgia falls down to 21st in the recruit rankings with just three four-star commitments and two three-stars. This isn’t the first time a Georgia commit has flipped to a school in Florida, with running back Ousmane Kromah flipping from Georgia to Florida State during the 2025 recruiting cycle.

The four-star defensive back is ranked as the No. 17 player at his position in the 2026 cycle. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound cornerback is the No. 22 prospect in Georgia and the No. 166 player in the country, per 247Sports.
