Purdue football coach Barry Odom: Spring update, QB battle, injuries

WEST LAFAYETTE − During Purdue football’s Saturday scrimmage, Boilermaker coaches were unable to nail down who’ll be the eventual quarterback.
Meanwhile, the coaching staff did have eyes on the future of the position beyond 2025.
With Corin Berry in Mollenkopf Athletic Center watching that Saturday scrimmage, Purdue coaches did enough to impress the three-star quarterback from Covina, Calif.
Berry flipped his commitment from Boston College, where he verbally committed last June, to Purdue he announced on social media Tuesday.
He becomes the third member of Purdue’s 2026 recruiting class, joining Chicago offensive tackle Rico Schreiber and Grand Rapids, Mich. linebacker Brayden Sweeney.

According to MaxPreps, Berry completed 64.5% of his passes for 3,034 yards and 33 TDs in 2024 for Charter Oaks High in California. Over the past two seasons, he’s thrown for more than 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. Berry cut his interceptions from 21 as a sophomore to 9 last season despite just one less attempt, and completed 48 more passes than the previous season.
