Now you don’t see that every day. New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has had a busy offseason full of NASCAR events and his usual spring training regimen, but he made time to visit Boulder, Colo. Kamara was a recent guest at Colorado Buffaloes football practice, seen posing for photos with head coach Deion Sanders and other big names on the Buffs’ staff.
Was he scouting Shedeur Sanders? Probably not, with the star quarterback busy himself preparing for the 2025 NFL draft. But Kamara’s visit is conspicuous. He was probably just taking the opportunity to mentor some younger players and catch up with old connections. His personal strength coach Andreu Swasey was hired to the same role on Colorado’s staff earlier this year. Michael Pollock, the Buffs’ quality control coach, coached high school football in Georgia at the same time Kamara was making waves as a college recruit. The two stopped for a photo, too.
So don’t read into this too deeply. Just because there’s buzz linking the Saints to Sanders in the draft and just because Kamara visited the school — it doesn’t mean the Saints are picking Sanders at No. 9. Kamara doesn’t work in the scouting department. Sanders may have not even been on campus. This might be something, but it’s much more likely this is nothing. Either way, it had to have been cool for the Colorado players to chop it up with a five-time Pro Bowler.
