The New York Giants continue their pre-draft evaluation process on Wednesday, hosting Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough for a top 30 visit.
Art Stapleton of USA TODAY was the first to report the news.
Shough took full advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic extra time, playing college football for three different Power 5 conference teams over seven years. After backing up Justin Herbert in Oregon, Shough led the Ducks to a Pac-12 title in 2020 before transferring to Texas Tech. Injuries plagued him for the next few years until he landed in Louisville.
At Louisville, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound quarterback led the Cardinals to an 8-4 season and ended with a tight victory over Washington in the Sun Bowl. Shough threw for 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns with just six interceptions and 14 sacks.
It took him a bit to find his groove in college, and he’s not exactly a top-rated passer in this draft; he’s the 12th-ranked quarterback in this class. But since the Giants have Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, they are looking for their quarterback of the future.

General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are on the hot seat in 2025. If they don’t turn things around, it will mean the end of their careers in New York, most likely. Looks like they’re taking it seriously by checking out as many viable options as they can.
