Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe visits Browns for another pre-draft meeting

The Browns continue to do their due diligence on the top quarterback prospects in this year’s draft class.

Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe were both in Berea on Tuesday, a league source confirmed for the Beacon Journal. So, too, was Texas A&M defensive end Nic Scourton.

Tuesday’s visit was the second time in three weeks the Browns have met individually with both quarterbacks. Both times they met with them for private workouts and then dinner around their pro days with a contingent that included owner Jimmy Haslam, general manager Andrew Berry, coach Kevin Stefanski, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave.

Stefanski reportedly remained in Oxford to watch Dart’s pro day on March 28.

“A very impressive young man,” Stefanski said of Dart to a group of Browns beat writers, including the Beacon Journal, at the AFC coaches breakfast at the owners meetings last week. “Has been coached really well. [Former New York Giants head coach] Joe Judge is down there as his quarterback coach, and Joe’s a former NFL head coach, former special teams coach, offense, defense. Joe kind of knows the game, so you can tell that he’s been really well coached and brought along the right way in this game. So impressive off the field and then did a nice job on the field as well.”

Dart and Milroe also had meetings with the Browns during the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. They’re two of five quarterbacks with which the team has had multiple private meetings or workouts in the last month-and-a-half, along with Miami’s Cam Ward, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Louisville’s Tyler Shough.
