Oregon football welcomes in four legends to the Duck spring game

The Oregon Ducks spring football game has always been much more than football.

A lot of it involves collecting canned food for Lane County, and some of it involves welcoming legends from the past to be guest coaches. This year is no different, as the Ducks announced they will have four legends back inside Autzen Stadium on April 26.

On one sideline will be former coach Mike Bellotti and former player Christian Gonzalez, who currently plays for the New England Patriots. But the other sideline isn’t exactly hurting for coaching and on-the-field talent.

Former coach Rich Brooks will join former running back and current Tampa Bay Buccaneer Bucky Irving on the other side. Brooks might have the advantage as it is Rich Brooks Field after all.

The Ducks are expecting a huge crowd the spring game and curious to see who may have the lead in winning the quarterback position as Dante Moore and Austin Novosad will both get a chance to see what they can do.

Excitement is also at a sky-high level with Oregon coming off a Big Ten championship season. Although the Rose Bowl didn’t go as well as one would hope, the Ducks should be contenders once again for the big prize and it all starts with the Spring Game.
