Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia excited for Spring Game

In case you haven’t heard, the annual Ohio State football Spring Game is set to come to a high definition television or streaming device near you this Saturday, April 12 at Noon ET. It’ll be exciting to see the Buckeyes in action again inside the venerable “Horseshoe” for the first time since the beatdown of Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

But fans and players aren’t the only ones excited about the chance to play some American collegiate football inside Ohio Stadium; some coaches are too. Take, for example, the biggest new addition to the coaching staff, new defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. He’s no stranger to massive environments, having been on the Patriots staff for some Super Bowl wins, but it’ll be his first time stepping inside the stadium on the banks of the Olentangy.

Patricia shared his excitement about the game thanks to the Ohio State Football creative team on social media, and by the sounds of it, he can’t wait to show the fans what his defense and other players have been working on.

“OK, April 12, we got the spring game in the ‘Shoe. I’m so excited — the guys have been working really hard — defense has been rolling, making a lot of plays, and I can’t wait to feel and see the fans,” Patricia said. “It’s going to be amazing. I got my family coming into town. Buckeyes in the ‘Shoe, it’s going to be awesome. April 12, Saturday, Go Buckeyes!”

We can’t wait either, Matt. Welcome on board and we’ll see you on Saturday.
