Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze explains what will look different at this year’s A-Day
AUBURN — Auburn football’s wrapping up its spring practices this weekend around the same annual event.
A-Day will take place Saturday (noon CT) at Jordan-Hare Stadium. However, what has been a spring game in the past will take the mold of a more traditional practice, which several programs have done this offseason.
“(I) Hope they’re (the fans) not disappointed,” coach Hugh Freeze said Thursday. “I just don’t think it’s wise for us to go out there and beat each other up, and we’re already kind of banged up. It’ll be a normal practice like today, truthfully.”
While the Tigers will hold an hour-long practice session for fans to watch, they’ll also host a slew of other events, further breaking from the usual spring game mold. Those include everything from the typical Tiger Walk to autograph sessions with coaches and players.

While the team practice begins at noon, a slew of events will surround it.
Auburn’s Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Tiger Trail induction ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Auburn Athletics Complex. An hour later, the program will open up a “Fan Fest” on the campus green at 10 a.m. outside Jordan-Hare Stadium. Gates will open at 11 a.m., coinciding with an alumni flag football game.
