Georgia Bulldogs football G-Day winners, losers

Georgia Bulldogs football returned to Sanford Stadium for the Bulldogs’ 2025 G-Day spring game. The Red Team (No. 1 offense) toppled the Black Team (No. 1 defense) behind a pair of Gunner Stockton passing touchdowns.

The game was a pass-heavy affair (88 pass attempts vs. 44 rushing attempts). Georgia’s passing attack threatened the field vertically all game, but was much more effective on connecting on big plays in the second half.

Georgia’s projected starting quarterback, Gunner Stockton, completed 17 of 34 passes for 309 yards and threw two touchdowns and one interception. He was efficient for the most part outside of his end zone interception (Daniel Harris intercepted the play).

Georgia’s projected back up quarterback Ryan Puglisi was not quite as effective as Stockton, but played well in his one series with the first-team offense, which was a touchdown drive. Puglisi completed 23 of 49 passes for 224 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception in his first ever game/scrimmage in front of Georgia fans.

We don’t consider either of the Georgia quarterbacks to be standouts from the scrimmage and that’s okay.

Loser: Out of town Georgia fans

Georgia Bulldogs fans that live out of the Peach State either had to make a significant road trip to the spring game or tune in via the radio since Georgia did not have the spring game televised. Less Georgia fans…
