Wisconsin football class of 2026 quarterback target Travis Burgess is currently predicted to choose the Auburn Tigers.
The commitment predictions came from Rivals’ Auburn insider Caleb Jones (April 4) and national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman (April 8). While 247Sports has yet to submit an official pick, On3 also lists the Tigers as the prohibitive favorite to land the three-star recruit at this stage of his recruiting process.
Burgess was recently on campus in Madison, Wisconsin, for a multi-day visit. The Badgers appear among the top contenders for the quarterback’s commitment, along with the mentioned Auburn Tigers, Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tar Heels and NC State Wolfpack. The Loganville, Georgia, native also recently took an unofficial visit to Auburn. He has official visits scheduled to Auburn on May 30, Wisconsin on June 6 and Duke on June 20.
247Sports ranks the 6-foot-5 signal-caller as the No. 513 player in the class of 2026, the No. 28 quarterback and the No. 57 recruit from the state of Georgia. He is fresh off a junior season at Grayson High School that included 60% completion, 2,255 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, four interceptions, 596 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
Wisconsin does not currently have a quarterback committed to its class of 2026. Three-star recruit Jarin Mock was committed to the class through much of last fall, though the Badgers’ late-season coaching changes led to his decommitment.
Wisconsin finished the 2025 cycle with four-star Carter Smith at the position, a commitment that directly preceded the team landing transfers Billy Edwards Jr. (senior) and Danny O’Neil (sophomore).
