The Georgia Bulldogs played their 2025 spring football game in front of 35,033 fans. Only the lower lever of stadium was ticketed for Georgia fans.
Georgia’s spring game did not draw a larger attendance in 2025 despite the game not being televised. It should be noted that Georgia did announce its spring game a little bit latter than normal and the game did not have as much publicity as it usually does.
Georgia’s spring game attendance was down significantly from 2024, which featured 55,101 fans in attendance at Sanford Stadium. The Dawgs also had 54,458 fans in attendance for their 2023 spring game.
For comparison, 38,192 Tennessee Volunteers fans attended their spring game. Approximately 10,000-15,000 Alabama Crimson Tide fans attended their A-Day event, which was a practice that was available to fans and not a scrimmage.
Georgia football’s 93k G-Day scrimmage in 2016 seems like a long way away from where spring games are now. In the first year of the Kirby Smart era, over 93,000 UGA fans attended the Georgia spring game. Now, less than half as many fans attended the 2025 edition of G-Day.
We’re in a new era of college football these days. Spring games have been notably devalued with some programs not hosting spring games at all.
Fans in attendance still got to enjoy some nice weather and got an early glimpse at the 2025 Georgia football team. The Bulldogs are rebuilding after losing a ton of talented players to the NFL draft and the transfer portal.
Georgia’s 2025 spring game featured a 34-17 victory for the Red Team, which was the first-team offense. Georgia’s first-team defense, the Black Team, did not play poorly, but could have prevented a few more explosive plays in the second half.
