Not everyone is made to be a football player, even if he is from the great state of Ohio.
Monday was the day that the Ohio State football team visited President Donald Trump and the White House. By the looks of it, it was a grand time with Trump addressing the team, players, coaches, and fans, but it was one moment in particular that seemed to be making the rounds on social media.
By now, almost every OSU fan knows that Vice President JD Vance is an Ohio State alum and fan of the team, but they probably didn’t know that his ball — er, College Football Playoff national championship trophy carrying skills lack much to be desired.
When Vance came forward to lift the trophy to do whatever he was going to do with it for the entire free world to see, he couldn’t quite keep from fumbling the thing. Watch as Vance lifts the trophy and has the golden top part of the trophy separate from the base in what has to be an embarrassing moment for a man that has Scarlet and Gray pulsing through his congressional veins.
FUMBLE!
What’s funny is that Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson, who is well-known to not fumble away the football in game situations, was there to lend a helping hand. Sometimes the real world meets sports, and you just can’t get enough of how the two collide. In this case, Vance’s pride likely collided with a viral moment on social media.
Hang in there JD — Get ’em next time.
